Candle TIPS

Wick Care & Trimming

Trim your wooden wick before the first burn to 1/4" to 1/8" above the wax using wick trimmers or nail clippers. A shorter wick ensures a strong, consistent burn. Between burns, gently remove excess burned wooden tips to keep the wick clean. Always trim wicks when the candle is completely cool to avoid debris falling into the wax and to prevent an overly high flame that causes soot and smoke.

Candle Burning Tips

For the first burn, light your candle for a minimum of 2–3 hours to achieve an even burn and prevent tunneling. Do not burn for more than 5 hours at a time, as the flame can become too large and cause soot buildup. Avoid burning in drafty areas near fans or air conditioning, as this can cause uneven burning or extinguish the flame. Excess soot can be wiped away with a little coconut oil and a paper towel once the jar is completely cool.

Natural Soy Wax

Our candles are made with natural soy wax, free from preservatives and dyes. You may occasionally notice a slight yellow hue — this is caused by oxygen oxidizing with the wax and fragrance and does not affect scent, strength, or burn quality. Candles may also yellow if kept in direct sunlight.

Candle Safety

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Keep away from pets and children.
  • Place on a heat-safe surface and do not move while lit — the jar can be extremely hot.
  • Never use water to extinguish a candle. Gently blow it out or use a snuffer.
